Players defend Miles
Coach takes national heat for wild finish
From coast-to-coast, network-to-network and just about any blog revolving around college football, Les Miles is a popular topic right now, and has been since LSU staged another miraculous victory on his watch.
Yep, Miles and the 12th-ranked Tigers are in the national spotlight — just where any coach would usually love to his program to be.
Not for the right reasons, though.
Instead, Miles has been lampooned for the newest chapter in clock mismanagement that nearly prevented LSU from rallying for a victory against heavy underdog Tennessee at Tiger Stadium.
The Tigers’ latest heart-stopper came on an untimed down only after the Volunteers were flagged for having too many defenders on the field on a botched LSU snap that would have ended the game in embarrassing, but eerily familiar fashion.
