Tigers kick off football season Saturday

The LSU Tigers play their first football game of this season Saturday at 7 p.m. when they take on the North Carolina Tar Heels in the Georgia Dome in Atlanta.
ESPN’s popular pregame “College GameDay” show will kick off the season in Atlanta leading up to the LSU game. The show starts at 9 a.m. on ESPN and an hour earlier on ESPNU.
Saturday’s game marks the first return of the Tigers to Georgia since October, when the Tigers beat Georgia 20-13 at Sanford Stadium.
LSU quarterback Jordan Jefferson, with a career of 21 touchdown passes, is expected to start.
The game will be broadcast on ABC, Cox Cable Channel 5 in the Baton Rouge area, and on WDGL-FM, 98.1.
