I am tuned to ESPN HD. They just had reporter Ed Werder on the phone with them from Hattiesburg, Mississippi. He said that he had just spoken personally with Brett Favre.
Brett told him that he did not send any text messages to anyone saying that he intends to retire or otherwise not return to the Vikings in 2010. He said that, instead, Brett told him that he does intend to return for his 20th NFL season and play for the Vikings in 2010 if his surgically repaired ankle will heal up satisfactorily for him.
But, he gave no timeline for making a decision on playing or not playing.
