QB Masoli settles on Ole Miss
Player facing "highest scrutiny," UM coach says
Personally, I think this is a mistake. In my opinion, this just shows that Ole Miss Head Football Coach Houston Nutt is desperate. He lost his experienced QB from last season, Jevan Snead, to a decision to go pro. That turned out to not work out so well for Snead. Then, he lost his next most experienced QB, Raymond Cotton, when he transferred to the University of South Alabama. The 2 remaining QBs have only minimal experience - and in the case of one of them, he has never thrown a pass at the college level.
So, Nutt is showing some desperation to get a QB who has playing experience. However, even though Masoli has agreed to come to Ole Miss for his senior season, it's not a done deal - he has some hurdles to clear before he can officially join the team.
We'll see how this plays out and if Jeremiah Masoli can keep his behavior clean in Oxford if he's allowed to join the team and play this season.
