Okay, it's clouded over here in my neighborhood. Barbie Bassett is on Channel 3 and she just said that here in Jackson it's currently 103 degrees and the heat index is 114. That's different than my Weather Channel desktop. It shows 93 and a heat index of 108.
Regardless of which is correct, it's HOT out there. Rusty remains in the den and he's quite comfortable. I went and checked on him a few minutes ago.
I took a nap earlier, after Shepard Smith went off the air with his Studio B show on FOX News. Shep was talking about the heat wave and that the index was 121 in Memphis and 114 in Oxford. Shep attended Ole Miss in Oxford so he has a connection to the area.
Alright now - Barbie is back on doing the weather on the 4:00 PM Report. She has the radar up and said that there are isolated thundershowers around.
Again she says 103/114 at the current time in Jackson. She says that the humidity is at 36% at the present time. However, there will be chances for rain moving in over the weekend and the temperatures will drop down in to the 90s for highs.
