Look for feisty Favre to try it again
Rick Cleveland, The Clarion-Ledger
Here we go again. The Favre Feeding Frenzy - 2010 version - has begun. Here was Tuesday:
First, unnamed Minnesota Vikings sources tell The Associated Press that quarterback Brett Favre will retire. The AP report becomes the lead story on news websites and talk radio shows across the country.
But wait, Vikings coach Brad Childress says Favre hasn't told him anything and that the situation is still "fluid." On Tuesday, evening, teammates were saying they had received text messages from Favre indicating he will retire.
Meanwhile, Favre, the gray-bearded, 40-year-old grandfather, former Southern Miss star and future Pro Football Hall of Famer, says nothing. Neither does his Hattiesburg agent Bus Cook.
Me? I still believe Favre will play. I won't believe he is retired until we go through the 2010 season and he's still in Hattiesburg.
