LSU, Oregon close to opening '11 season in Arlington
While news of a Texas-Notre Dame series sparked marquee matchup talk, LSU-Oregon also rates as a winner. Although it is not official, it appears the Oregon Ducks will open their 2011 football season against LSU. "No contracts have been signed -- it's not a done deal yet," UO spokesman David Williford said Tuesday. "It's certainly in the works." The game, most likely at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas, would replace the previously scheduled 2011 opener at Kansas State.
