Miles discusses calls in UNC game

An apparent touchdown run by Stevan Ridley early in the fourth quarter of the Chick-fil-A Kickoff Game would have given LSU a four-touchdown lead late in Saturday’s season opener.
But a holding penalty against substitute guard T-Bob Hebert negated the score, forced the Tigers to replay third down and, ultimately, allowed North Carolina to ignite a rally that made LSU’s 30-24 victory a fight to the finish.
Asked about the holding call Monday, LSU coach Les Miles cleared his throat.
“The responsibility not to comment on officials or officiating, I dance around as good as any,” Miles quipped.
Miles, who is subject to a fine from the Southeastern Conference if he complains publicly about officiating, said Hebert’s block appeared to be textbook.
“When you are the official on the scene, there’s some things you see that the camera doesn’t pick up. What he saw must well have not been represented on that film,” Miles said.
