Barring the unexpected, LSU wide receiver Terrence Toliver will be the target of a lot of passes this fall.
That equates to a lot of chances for big plays and some moments in the spotlight for the Tigers’ only senior wide receiver.
So Toliver’s value on the field during games won’t be hard to measure. What may not be as evident is what kind of impact the 6-foot-5, 203-pound Texan has off the field.
As the only senior in a group ripe with potential but shy on experience, Toliver will shoulder a leadership role he’s never had to worry about as Robin to Brandon LaFell’s Batman from the day he stepped on campus.
Whether it’s helping Russell Shepard make sure a route is run crisply or nudging Rueben Randle to make sure he practices hard in every practice, Toliver is spending plenty of practice time as a mentor.
And that’s not to even mention the new crop of true freshmen Toliver is running herd over.
