Most punters attract little attention during organized media events. Brad Wing isn’t most punters.

Sitting in a line of special-teams players, wearing his new No. 38 jersey, Wing was a hot item Tuesday as LSU football welcomed the camera-carrying, notebook-toting Media Day masses.

Sure, Wing, standing 6-foot-4, 175 pounds, and blessed with a missile launcher for a left leg, answered questions here and there about how far he could kick a ball or how quickly he might see game action.

But mostly, everyone wanted to know about his journey.
