Good afternoon ~ I've got the 4:30 PM report from WLBT [Channel 3] on TV. Barbie Bassett is doing the weather and she is talking about all the rain in southwestern Mississippi. One community has gotten over 10 inches since midnight, so there's some flooding going around that area of the state.
Maggie Wade noted that she didn't know that there is a Horseshoe, Mississippi. I didn't either. I noted some other names on the radar map that I had never heard of. They are small communities - just a few people, but they're still in existence.
We haven't gotten any more rain today, the outlook is a mix of sun and clouds. It's currently 84 with a heat index of 92. Barbie said that our high for today was 85. With all the cloud cover we've been under, I'm not surprised that it didn't get any higher. My bedroom registers 75.2 degrees.
Sukiey is curled up on "her pillow" in my bed; she was sleeping earlier. She's behaving well this afternoon.
Flooding is happening in Natchez - Marsha Thompson is reporting about it on the 5:00 PM report on Channel 3.
I have remained at home all day long. I had Rusty in the house earlier - since he was barking vociferously wanting in. Then a couple of hours ago I put him back outside because he was barking again and when I went to check on him, he indicated he wanted out.
My housemate indicated that she would be home sometime after 5:00 PM instead of going to prayer meeting because of an issue with her home phone service. The phone line was dead so she called AT&T about it. I discovered it was dead when I was going to use her phone to call my cell phone because I found that there was an issue with it; I picked up the phone and found it dead, so I called and alerted her. Turned out there wasn't an issue with my cell phone, though.
This is all I have for now....
