L.S.U.’s Dual Threat Puts on a Show

ATLANTA — It seems like a risky move for a team to use its star cornerback, an All-American candidate no less, as a kick returner. But Louisiana State is doing just that with Patrick Peterson, exposing him in the open field to gunners on coverage teams and opening up the possibility that his knees could be wrecked.

It looks less risky, though, when the gunners and any other would-be tacklers fail get a clear shot at him. Peterson, a junior, just runs away from them.
