Former Tiger Wilson Named an MLB All-Star
Former LSU pitcher Brian Wilson will continue the Tigers' All-Star legacy next week when he participates in the Major League Baseball All-Star Game.
The annual American League versus National League event is scheduled for Tuesday, July 13 at Angel Stadium in Anaheim, Calif.
Wilson, who pitched at LSU from 2001-03, is second in the National League this season with 22 saves. He is 2-0 with a 2.04 ERA in 35.1 innings, recording 15 walks and 49 strikeouts.
Wilson's selection to the NL roster marks the third straight year a former LSU player has been chosen for the mid-summer classic. Wilson represented the Giants in the 2008 All-Star Game at Yankee Stadium, and infielder Aaron Hill of the Toronto Blue Jays (AL) and outfielder Brad Hawpe of the Colorado Rockies (NL) played in the 2009 All-Star Game in St. Louis.
