LSU football: Tigers seek to earn back respect in 2010

LSU players took their medicine like men when they learned the media had picked them to finish fourth in the SEC West, behind conference favorite Alabama, Arkansas and Auburn.

 

Two years removed from a BCS title, LSU is no longer among the nation's or conference's elite. Alabama and Florida ran away with most of the first-place votes.

The LSU players didn't get much respect in the voting either. Linebacker Kelvin Sheppard and cornerback Patrick Peterson were selected to the first-team defense, but not another Tiger landed one of the other 50 spots.
