NEW ORLEANS — The penultimate stop on this year’s Tiger Tour took LSU football coach Les Miles to the Riverside Hilton, a short drive down Poydras Street from the site of his finest achievement in coaching.
Only three seasons ago, the Tigers finished with a 38-24 victory over Ohio State in the Louisiana Superdome to win the national championship.
“Walking into this facility was a great reminder to me of how good we can be,” Miles told the crowd Sunday night, recalling LSU’s triumph in the BCS title game.
Miles begins his sixth season at LSU on Sept. 4, when the Tigers face highly touted North Carolina in Atlanta. He is optimistic his team can return to the kind of success it enjoyed in his first three seasons.
