I got Drew Brees - well his book, that is! I left work a little early tonight - a scheduled deal - and headed to LifeWay Christian Stores in North Jackson. Since Drew's book is published by Tyndale House, a Christian publisher, I would've been surprised and shocked if LifeWay wasn't carrying it! I had held off purchasing a copy because I wanted to buy it at LifeWay instead of at a secular bookstore or store such as Kroger.
I had checked the LifeWay Internet site and found that online they were selling it for $19.99, so I called the local store to check with them about it. The guy I spoke with confirmed that they had copies in stock and that they were also selling it for $19.99 - the same as the online price.
Well, I got to LifeWay and when I entered the store, I was greeted by Brenda, who happens to be an FBCJ member - and also a member of the Sanctuary Choir. She pointed me to the display of Drew's books. Also there were copies of Pro 2010 Featuring Drew Brees: Professional Football Guide. They were on sale for $1.29, so I got a copy of it as well.
After checking out, I headed home. When I pulled in the driveway, instead of raising the garage door, I parked there and got out and gave my car a good rinsing off as it needed it. Then I got back in, raised the garage door, cranked it up and pulled inside - then lowered the door back down.
I dropped my gear in my bedroom and then went back out and checked on Rusty. He had eaten the food I put out for him this morning. I went and got another scoop of food and also got a fresh pitcher of water and took them out to him. I changed out the water in his bowl to give him fresh water as I had seen him drinking from the water that was in there when I checked on him.
I've had supper and am currently watching the NASCAR Sprint Cup Lifelock 400 from Chicago Motor Speedway. Jeff Gordon [#24] - one of my favorites - leads at the present time. They're on lap 180 of 267. And they're now in a caution, but about to get the restart underway.
I'm looking forward to starting to read A Memoir:Coming Back Stronger: Unleashing the hidden power of adversity from Drew Brees with Chris Fabry. The foreword is by Mark Brunell, another NFL quarterback I've admired. I'm just wondering whether Drew [ his full name is Andrew Christopher Brees] will make an appearance somewhere in the Jackson area to sign copies of this book. I hope that if he does, it'll be at LifeWay or if it's somewhere else, they don't have the requirement that you buy copies of books you want signed from them.
By the way, today was a good day at work. I had on and off busy streaks and those helped the day to go by faster. The boss had given each of us projects to work on. I tackled my assignment and got it figured out and put together; now it's a matter of him checking it out and letting me know if he approves of what I came up with.
Sukiey is satisfied and content because I'm in my bedroom with her since she knows that I'm at home. She was crying for me earlier when I was having supper because she couldn't be out where I was at that time.
This is all I've got for now....
