I brought them back in the garage and then brought the door back down. I went on to go take a shower and get dressed, then sat down and logged on and checked e-mail. I also sent an e-mail to a couple of friends regarding whether or not they would be attending One Great Lunch Break today. I said that I would be "out of pocket" with regard to e-mail so I asked them to call or text me.
I finished getting ready and then headed out. My first stop was at the post office. I picked up my incoming mail and then went to the window area and dropped off some outgoing mail; I had a package to send out, so I had to wait in line. This post office has 4 window stations; they had only one clerk working. I waited in line for about 10-15 minutes before I finally reached the clerk.
I got the package mailed out and then left the post office and headed into the Downtown area. I made a stop at my banking institution and cashed a check I had gotten from my flexible spending account for expenses I had that I had requested reimbursement for.
Then I headed on to FBCJ and pulled into the CLC garage. I parked and then made my way into the CLC. I went to one of the workout rooms and got on a treadmill. Altogether, I walked 41:30 and 1.56 miles. I'm finally getting back to exercising now that my foot injury from late last year has finally completely healed where I can walk on a regular basis.
While on the treadmill, I talked with one of my co-workers [she was out of the office today] and found that she wouldn't be attending One Great Lunch Break. She asked me if I had the extra cash on me to pick up a ticket for her to next week's Midsummer Celebration featuring Laine Lawson Craft, founder of WHOA! Ministries [Women who Hear, Obey and Act on God's Word]. They had been selling tickets in order to have a "head count" so as to know how much food to prepare. I said that I had been to the bank so, yes, I did have extra cash and would get a ticket for her.
I had learned that 2 of the people who usually join us for lunch were the only ones coming today, so I needed to save just 2 seats. I made my way over to the Fellowship Hall East [where the lunch takes place] and purchased the 2 tickets I needed from the booth where they were being sold. Then I made my way to the table where the "lite line" customers pay and paid for my lunch.
After a short wait, the doors were opened and I went in and through the line and made my way to a table and grabbed 2 chairs and put them in a position so that others would know they were "saved". I went on to eat; the others joined me a little later and then the program began.
Dr. Bill Causey spoke on the topic of Forgiveness and his Scripture basis was 1 John 1:9 ~
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. (NIV)
After the program was over, I made a "pit stop" and then headed back to the garage and got my car and headed out. I made a beeline to the gas station; after a short wait [they were busy] I pulled up to the pump and filled up:
Gallons: 9.326
Price per gallon: $2.279
Total cost: $21.25
I saved 10 cents per gallon with my loyalty card using fuel points. Once I finished filling up, I headed out and made my way home and pulled into the driveway, raised the garage door, pulled in and parked and lowered the garage door.
Inside, I made my way to my bedroom. I've checked out WHOA! magazine's Summer, 2010 issue - I got 2 copies so I could share a copy with a friend in another state.
The outside temperature is 91 under a mix of sun and clouds according to Channel 3. I don't have the heat index. In my bedroom it's 75.7 degrees - and I'm happy about that! The solar curtains I ordered are in transit; according to what the carrier says, I should get them on Friday. I've got to get a rod to hang them on.
Not much else is going on - I think I'll join Sukiey and see if I can take a nap!
